Vung Ang Thermal Power is one of the largest thermal power plants in Vietnam. Vung Ang Power Center is located in Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province including 5 thermal power plants with total capacity of 6,300MW.
- Vung Ang 1 thermal power plant was inaugurated in September 2015 by the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) with the capacity of 1200MW.
- Formosa Thermal Power Plant with a capacity of 1,500MW, by the National Petroleum
- Corporation as an investor, is completed and commercial power generation from 2015.
- Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Plant, which is jointly invested by the Mitsubishi Group and Vung Ang 2 Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, has an operating capacity of 1,320 MW and is expected to operate commercially in 2018.
- Vung Ang 3 Thermal Power Plant has a total capacity of 2.400MW. Vung Ang 3 is divided into 2 independent projects, each with a capacity of 1,200MW. The Vung Ang 3 Thermal Power Plant is invested by Song Da, BIDV, BITEXCO and AEI. The completion date of this project is 2021.
