O Mon Thermal Power Plant
O Mon Thermal Power Plant Project I, which is invested by EVN, Cantho Thermo-electricity Company Limited, is assigned to manage the project. O Mon I Thermal Power Plant Project is one of four factories of the O Mon Power Center under the National Electricity Development Plan 2011-2020 with a vision to 2030 (Figure 7). The Prime Minister approved Decision No. 1208 / QD-TTg dated 21 July 2011 and approved by the Ministry of Industry the master plan in Decision No. 2523 / QD-NLDK dated September 27,
O Mon I Power Plant consists of two units, Unit 1 was built and put into operation since 2009, Unit 2 has installed capacity of 330MW, built in Thoi area Loi, Phuoc Thoi Ward, O Mon District, about 20km from downtown Can Tho and 185km from Ho Chi Minh City. The plant is connected to the O Mon 110 / 220kV substation to connect with the national grid.
Total investment of the project is VND 9,722 billion (equivalent to USD 462 million), including loan from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and EVN reciprocal capital.
